Mother's Day

Emily and her princesses (sorry don't have a pic of her and her princes)

Here are four of the five kids blessed to call Lydia Mommy

My very own Little Man
The 5 boys privileged to call Tanjala "Mom"

Teresa a very beautiful young girl who happens to be my
niece and daughter of Lisa

This is Mother's Day weekend, and I wanted to send something out to all the "special" Moms in my life. I will list a few that every young mother could use for a pattern of Godly Mothering.
I also want to say thanks especially to my Mom who has been there for me, encouraged me, and most importantly showed me the Love of Christ since my infancy.
To Mark's Mom who is an amazing woman who has raised a true gentleman who is now the father of my child. Thanks Mom Richards for all you did in shaping Mark's life. We love you!!!

I would also like to wish Tanjala a Happy Mother's Day. Your sacrificial giving of yourself for your family amazes me. I am so thankful that God brought you into my life (can you believe it 20 years ago!!) You have been a good friend through the years.

Emily As I have grown to know and love you this past year, you have become like a sister to me. It is so awesome to watch you with your little "princesses" and your "princes". You are a mother any young girl can look to and see a Proverbs 31 Woman!! You are a true "Queen Mommie".

Lisa you are simply AMAZING!! It is great having you for a sister-in-law!! I always look forward to your emails and chats just to see what you are going to be doing next! I hope you have a very special Mother's Day. Wish we could spend it together (HINT HINT!!!!)

Lydia when I think of you I think of these words, Wonderful, Beautiful, Patient, Loving and Kind, Hardworking, Dedicated, Talented (vocally and artistically), Teacher, and FRIEND!!!

Tonia, you have been added to my "other mom" list (even though you aren't old enough to be my mom)!! I LOVE YOU!!!

I received this in an email and how well it describes what its like to be a Mother. This is my third mother's day and I am still overwhelmed that God has given us Kendrick to raise to love and serve Him.

Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put them down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy. Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Oh Gretchen this is beautiful. Thank you for the kind words about me too. That mom poem is excellent and made me cry! (Why do we do that to each other ALL the time? I guess that is a gift we blues have!)

Happy belated mommy's day; to a mom with an enormous heart, for her baby boy, her prince in waiting, and everyone else she meets!
