Kendricks Pedicure

A couple weeks ago mom broke two of her toes, ever since Kendrick has been fascinated with his own "pigs". Here is mom giving him a "pedicure" it was so cute to watch him read a magazine while she filed his toenails. It is so hard to believe that in less than a month Kendrick will be 2 years old.

Fun with the Crowls

This past Saturday Tim and Kristy brought their kids up and we went to the park. Here are a few pics of the fun the kids had and a video of the fun the "biggest kid" had. Hopefully Tim doesn't kill me, he isn't fond of having a picture/video taken of him!! The kids had fun, got covered with dirt and best of all slept like a dream that night (at least Kendrick did). Kendrick and Bethany always have fun playing together. It's hard to believe they will both be two here in the next couple of months. Thanks Tim and Kristy for a fun day! Come visit us again soon!!

God Cares!!

It always amazes me to see God work in the "little things" in life. For a while Mark and I have been praying that something would work out that he could go to first shift at work. Last week he was informed that they were going to be switching shifts around and working 4-10hr days. That meant that he wouldn't be getting home until nearly 3:30am. In turn that would mean less time spent together as a family. So we REALLY started praying. When he went to work on Monday he found out that there was 4 positions opening up on first so he put his name in. Tonight he called me on his lunch break and he got one of the positions on first!! We thank the Lord for answering not only our NEED prayers but even gives us the desires of our hearts. With this change we are now going to be able to be in church on Wednesday evening as well as be able to take Kendrick to VBS in August. Another plus is Mark will have Fridays off which means that my time at Alpha Omega will no longer be rushed. God is good ALL THE TIME!!

Father's Day Thoughts

This is Father's Day weekend and I want to wish some of my favorite Dad's Happy Father's Day.
First I want to wish Mark the BEST Father's Day he has had yet. Mark is an example of a Godly Father. Honey, I love to watch you with Kendrick. I love to watch the two of you play and I also love to watch you hold him when he has gotten hurt or isn't feeling good. I always think about the time I was in the hospital after Kendrick was born. As a new father Mark took on sole responsibility of Kendrick for a WEEK!! I don't know of too many new dads who would have taken off work stayed home with a newborn AND make daily visits to the hospital. He could have called his Mom or his sisters to take care of Kendrick but he didn't. He has always taken fatherhood seriously and I appreciate that about Mark. I could not ask for a better partner on the journey of parenting!! We love you!!
My Dad has always been a special person to me. He has taught me how to work hard and how to enjoy it. I know there were times when we were hauling wood and I would complain about being hot and sweaty he would always laugh and say "Good wood heat always heats ya twice". He also taught me how to be the best 'tater bug picker in the WORLD (UGHH how I hated that). But in that he also taught me that hard work produces good things. He also taught me the fun of fishing. What fun we had sitting on the river bank fishing until I got bored with sitting there and would decide to make worms dizzy (honestly it did work the dizzier the worm the easier it was to get on the hook, plus when they hit the water they would really start to wriggle and you caught more fish!!!) Thanks Dad for all the sacrifices you made to put me through Christian school and making sure I was in Church EVERYTIME the doors were open. I love you!!
Father's Day is always a little difficult for Mark. He lost his father in November 1992. I sure wish I would have had the opportunity to meet the man who made a man of Mark. I love to hear stories from Mark about his dad for I always get a glimpse of where Mark gets his humor and his ability to tease. We love you Dad Richards!!
I want to wish a Happy Father's Day to all you Dad's out there. You make the world complete!!

Summer Fun

A year ago for Kendrick's birthday we bought him this little pool. Unfortunately last year it never got out of the box. So today was the day Mark decided to get it out and fill it. Kendrick had a total blast splashing around and playing. Kendrick has always enjoyed water and I think he is going to spend MANY happy hours in his pool. After Mark left for work Kendrick and I went out to gather up the "animals" so they wouldn't blow away in the thunderstorm we had tonight. We are so thankful that we haven't had any tornadoes or really bad weather yet this spring. Our hearts and prayers go out to so many who have lost homes and even loved ones this spring due to tornadoes and flooding. I am so thankful to know the "Master of the Storms" for He also knows how to calm them. Hopefully it won't be as long between posts next time!

Not Good Bye, but See Ya Later

This past Friday was the last time for Emily and I to get together for a while. She and her family are moving to Columbus, IN on June 16th to start their new position as Pastor's Family. I am so thankful for modern technology like email, blogs, and cell phones. She was quick to point out it wasn't good bye but See ya later. So Emily it's a very excited can't wait to see you again (or at least pics!!!) I love you!! Have a safe trip and enjoy settling in to your new home.
